Using Acrylic as a Food-Grade Material

Acrylic is a food-grade material, suitable for the display of frozen, chilled, ambient and warm food. It is not advisable to use these products to display very hot food as this may damage the surface of the acrylic.

Acrylic products are widely used in refrigerators and freezers but should not be exposed to direct heat and so are not suitable for use in ovens or microwaves.

Cleaning Acrylic

For dusting and polishing the surface of the acrylic, simply use a micro-fibre cloth or anti-static cloth.

Acrylic products are not dishwasher-safe.
For best results hand wash in warm soapy water and buff dry with a micro-fibre cloth.

Solvents will damage the edges of your acrylic so please do NOT use cleaning wipes or non-detergent cleaners as these often include solvents

Caring for Acrylic

Acrylic is known for its impact resistance (17 times stronger than ordinary glass), but it is still possible for it to be damaged if it is subject to excessive impact or dropped onto a hard surface.

If your acrylic product becomes damaged, please dispose of it carefully.  It is designed to shatter into larger pieces than glass, but it can still have sharp edges.

The surface of acrylic can become scratched over time.  This can be reduced by gentle cleaning (see above) and by storing carefully.
